Dear friends
Bienvenue à Toulouse!
On behalf of the EPOS leadership I am delighted and proud to welcome you to the 43rd annual meeting of our society in Toulouse. This event marks the culmination of our collective efforts to advance our knowledge, practices and dedication to paediatric orthopaedics, all in pursuit of providing better care for our young patients. The beautiful and historic city of Toulouse serves as the perfect setting, embodying the synergy of innovation and tradition.

Following an in-depth analysis of previous annual meeting locations, it is no coincidence that we are gathering in the southwest of Europe. Nearly half of all past meetings have taken place in this lower-left corner of the continent: a habit that we may either uphold or reconsider when we cast our vote on the EPOS 2028 venue at the General Assembly on Friday morning.
For this year’s event, we have introduced a revised format, running from Wednesday to Friday, allowing attendees a free weekend. We will assess the impact of this change with a post-meeting survey among our members and, based on the feedback, decide whether to retain or revert to the traditional format for EPOS 2026 in Seville.
I extend my sincere gratitude to our industry partners whose unwavering support ensures that EPOS remains a leading force in paediatric orthopaedics across Europe and beyond.
My thanks also go to the dedicated reading committee and its chair, David Farrington, for meticulously curating every session with insight and foresight. Special appreciation is due to Lene Winther Hagelskjær and Mona Ibsgaard from CAP-Partner and to our own Ceylan Tokgöz, EPOS Association Director, and Sanni Hiltunen, Director of Education.
Et naturellement aussi un grand merci ! to our local hosts Franck Accadbled & Jérôme Sales de Gauzy, for their invaluable contribution and hospitality!
Finally, don’t miss the Friday night gala experience at the Marché des Carmes – an open market where exquisite French cuisine and a lively atmosphere will perfectly complement the collegial spirit of EPOS!
Warm regards
Carol C. Hasler
President of EPOS

Dear colleagues, Dear EPOS friends,

Toulouse is often described as the aerospace capital of Europe, a testament to the city’s groundbreaking achievements in aviation, space exploration, and innovation. Much like the world of aerospace, pediatric orthopaedics is constantly evolving, with new frontiers being explored and exciting breakthroughs shaping the future of our specialty. As we meet here, we have the privilege of collaborating, learning, and advancing this field together, as we shape the future of pediatric musculoskeletal care.
Beyond its technological advances, Toulouse is also a city passionate about sports, most notably rugby. The spirit of rugby, its teamwork, resilience, and commitment to excellence resonates deeply with our own values as orthopaedic surgeons. Just as rugby players support one another to reach new heights, we too, in our own way, support each other in advancing the science and practice of pediatric orthopaedics for the benefit of our patients.
We encourage you all to take full advantage of this meeting to exchange ideas, engage in meaningful discussions, and collaborate with new colleagues from all over the world. Let us be inspired by the legacy of innovation and teamwork that surrounds us, and let this conference serve as a platform for us to further our shared goal: improving the lives of children.
